The numbers at left represent ratings for Persons 12+, Monday-Sunday, 6AM-12M, for the St. Louis metro rating area.

Phase 2 of the Spring 2006 survey period include the last four-week "phase" of the Winter 2006 book and the first two four-week "phases" of the Spring book, which began on March 30 and will conclude on June 21.

The numbers are crunched to provide a "rolling average" that provides subscribers a once-a-month check of their work.

If, for example, a station experiences a significant rise or decline, the station can expect that the next trend report will be correspondingly up or down and can make adjustments. Using proprietary Arbitron information and formulae, they can even extrapolate an approximate future rating.

The complete Spring Book will roll out on July 24th.

NOTE: 12+ numbers provide only an overview of the marketplace. All rating figures are history.

Corporate 12+ Scorecard-- Clear Channel: 23.0 - 23.0; CBS: 17.9 - 17.4; Bonneville: 16.3 - 16.1; Emmis: 12.8 - 13.4; Radio One: 6.8 - 6.4.

Mike's analysis:
The obvious big news here is the continued growth at KTRS-AM, rising in this Trend from a tie for 11th to a solid 7th. The station was touting a month ago that they were, in the extraps, in 5th; something must have happened this time around to hold them back, because the Top 6 are all the usual suspects.

Note, however, that KMOX stands at 8.2. Unless disaster is around the corner these next few rating weeks, they might have an acceptable 12+ Spring Book, although they're aching a bit 25-54.

Magic's tumble to 10th from 6th is noteworthy, as is the fact that The Bull and K-Hits managed to jump two positions with a two-tenths and three-tenths of a point increase, respectively. And sadly Y-98 continues it long downward spiral.

NOTES: Though KTRS showed some gains across the board, still no signs of life in the AM. 19th place tie. JC flat but up a market position to 3rd. KMOX out of the top 5. Bonneville probably expected more than a .4 increase after all the outdoor for Steve & DC. Emmis probably expected more out of Allman & Smash than a 12th place tie. Stern had The Point in 3rd place with a 5-share a year ago. Now they're 16th.
